At 6 a.m. on an early June morning, Mr. Dorfus Young shows a group of young Black creatives and community organizers his chicken coop. Just a year prior, a dog viciously killed several of his chickens, a somewhat common incident on the farm. Now, he and his family have over 25 chickens that will soon start to lay eggs daily- something many in their twenties didn't know.
