Mississippi’s Own Elsie Advances to the Quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent

Of course America’s got talent. However, if we zoom in, we notice that the talent in Mississippi, the Birthplace of America’s Music, has always had a precious kind of soul to it. Columbia, Mississippi’s very own ELSIE is just the one to prove to the world how uniquely foundational the Sound of the South truly is, as both a crowd and judge favorite on Season 21 of “America’s Got Talent”. 

From the very beginning, our cowgirl received the highest compliments from the most notoriously harsh, critical judge in televised talent competition show history. THE Simon Cowell, creator of AGT, recognized and appreciated our star’s star potential. The reality is that a star can’t help but shine. ELSIE’s heart, care, and soul beam so effortlessly as she travels through the competition offering her all, through honest conversation and rich vocals.

After performing her original song, “FORGIVELESS” for her initial audition, she received very interesting feedback from the judges. Ultimately, the consensus was she was too polished, too perfect. It seems they wanted to hear her voice on a different song and wanted more carefree energy. If statements like “too perfect” and “really polished, very professional”  are the primary critiques of her audition piece, then there is no need to worry about ELSIE taking it To The Top, in true Southern Miss alumni fashion.

On the callback episode, we got to see the songstress in an even more intimate light. Standing in the yard of Simon Cowell’s home, glowing from the inside out, ELSIE performed Ed Sheeran’s “Make It Rain” with tremendous grace and grit. After belting her heart out in front of Normani, Poo Bear, and Simon himself, she was able to win their hearts by expressing hers fully and freely. This performance has led her to the Live Shows that will take place on September 1, 2026.
